Castello Scaligero is ready to present itself to the public in a new light. Thanks to these special visors that you can rent to visit the stronghold, you can discover the secrets concealed between its walls.

The castle has been a national monument since 1902. Over the centuries it has been a place of passage of many peoples, among which were the Lombards, the Franks, the Scaligeri, the Venetians, Visconti and Austrians. During their passage, all of them left their mark that, over the course of time, changed the appearance of the Castle to the form with which it currently dominates the lake from the centre of Malcesine.

The augmented reality pathway unwinds over 14 stops through which to read the stratification of history and the faceted identity of the castle.
An exceptional guide. The narrator’s voice that accompanies you in this experience belongs to a person who was among one of the first people to fall in love with the place. It was Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, famous writer and dramatist of German origin who fell in love with the castle at first sight, so much so that he stayed there during his trip to Italy in 1786.
